"I've been trying to find a chapter book for my son that he could really sink his teeth in to for a while now. He's a super hero guy, so we've done Spider-Man, Batman and all the other usuals. He loves comics but still mostly just looks at the pictures.
I'm not sure why the word Pickle is so funny, but he took to this book right away. He just turned 7 in April and is totally digging this story. The reading is easy enough for him to get through alone and challenging enough for him to learn some new words too (relic, Argyle, preserved).
The story is making him laugh and the chapters are short enough that he feels like he's accomplished something every 4-6 pages. He loves the comic book style start to each chapter.
I would highly recommend this book if you have a 7 or 8 year old you are trying to get hooked on reading.
Please write another one soon!"
