Great book, Author short on history

"As Claymore said, I was highly insulted by the statement that we in the 5th Group in Vietnam committed some of the worst atrocities!! I would sure like to see some proof of that.

Also Mr Stanton, your American History is sadly mistaken. Roger's Rangers were a Brittish unit that fought in the French and Indian War, not an American unit that fought against the Brittish in the Revolutionary war.

I enjoyed the book, it seemed pretty realistic in light of my guerilla warfare training and operations experience. IN any event the teams did a great job.

The historical errors and the slam at Vietnam era SF make me question the veracity and judgement that went into writing the rest of the book

Horse Soldiers

"This book by Doug Stanton cannot be put down for a minute. It's an incredible story of the courage and skill of our country's "Quiet Professionals", the "Secret Warriors". I am glad the truth of the first battle after 9-11 is out in story form and to think a modern war was fought on horseback. That in itself was intriguing!
I wish I could shake hands with every soldier in the book. Well done! And Doug Stanton, the structure of his story telling is well done too. I understand 5 yrs of research and tracing down all angles and locations for this book was not easy.
Can't wait to see this book on Film. Heard the producer of "Black Hawk Down" bought the movie rights. But I'd read the book first before seeing the Movie."
